First batch shipped, new space

So we shipped our first batch of mostly notepads iPad cases.

I have to admit that it was something of an exciting moment. We gathered all of us at Max’s place and put all the new gear into envelopes, wrote up shipping tickets and sent the first batch all over the world. We looked at each other, smiled and went off to push on with our work on the new bags.

So we have this beautiful new space with several new tools now in it, a beautiful new upright power saw, precise drill, air pressure devices and more. It’s a fun process putting them all to work and making the space our own.

The challenge of the day is building a few custom tools of our own, as you guys can guess, the wood spine on the bags requires a precise press after the laser cutting is done. We decided to build this press on our own and max has been welding like mad to make a 10 ton press that will work with all the wood designs from bags to fenders. It’s a fun process and we’ll send some pictures of that as it comes together.

So we are on track for delivery in June for all the bags and combos, we should have all the tooling and processes done for mass production by the end of next week and then we turn into little worker bees in our new woodshop.
